Thanks to Feminista’s summer school , we hope to become a regional group for Kent, linking up feminists itching to get active and antagonise in and around Kent.
Although we live at some distance from each other, we aim to organise in our separate areas and come together to inspire, energise and encourage each other to remember what it’s all about.
We found each other at summer school and already have the seeds for groups in Tunbridge Wells and Ashford, as well as the buzzing and already active UKC Feminist Society.
If you live in Kent and are trying to find other women to join you in discussion, debate and most importantly activism, please get in touch.
Plots and plans:
• Finding each other – posters, stalls, social networking
• Quarterly meeting of Kentfeminista en masse
• More frequent meetings of local groups
• UKC Feminist Society Reading Group
• Feminist Fridays on last Friday of the month
• Getting men signed up to the ‘real man’ manifesto
• Protesting at hotels offering porn channels for free
• Researching the effect of Govt cuts on local women
• Support of Amnesty’s ongoing ‘No recourse – No safety’ campaign
• Pestering our local MPs on Feminist Issues
